Chapter 2 - The Tryst

January 2007

Marist Meet 2007 is going to get held at Teresa’s school. Marist Meet is an event where all the Marist Schools in the country should get together for one common goal. The event is composed of variety of competitions – sports, academics and socio-cultural competitions. Since Teresa is the one who is ALWAYS-DEPEND-ON person in her school, she was assigned for the Photography, Delegation Tour Guide and Over-All Update of the event. It’s a busy almost a week for her. It is a 5-day activity, 5-day sufferings, 5-day sleepless nights and 5-day BRAIN DRAIN for her.

January 17, 2009, the first day of Marist Meet. The participants keep coming. Teresa is keen to get her task well done. She is used to have upright compliments from the Marist Brothers and school faculty. Her task for that day is to welcome all the delegates from diverse Marist Schools – Marist Marikina, Marist Kidapawan, Marist Cotabato, Marist Gensan and Marist Marbel (Teresa’s School). She was at her allocated site and she is getting set for her winning smile to be seen by her co-maritians. I can do this. I can do this. A vision of a solid tough girl she was but deep inside a girl who wants to have a perfect life. And she has to act her best in her school just to obtain more attention from the people around her. Then like a storm, the delegates from different schools arrive. First one who arrived is the delegates from Marist Cotabato… Marist Gensan… then there goes Marist Kidapawan and from the north, the only delegate that came by airplane – Marist Marikina. Teresa was so tired. She smiles and cheers at the every delegation that pulls in their school. Welcome to Marist School of Marbel! Your quarters is located at that side beside the school library then turn left/right and just find the name of your school posted at every door. Thank you and enjoy your stay - her undying statement that she felt like she will say it forever.
